NEW ORIENTAL

Wandong Medical Technology is a company with over 60 years of history in the field of diagnostic imaging. This year marks 20 years since the company began working on pioneering systems based on direct digital radiography. Since then, it has become the undisputed leader in its domestic market, with a total number of digital system installations significantly exceeding 6,000 systems.

WDM currently has the following models in its portfolio of bone and chest X-ray systems:

  • New Oriental 1000CE
  • New Oriental 1000MC
  • New Oriental 1000MD
  • New Oriental 1000DB

The first of these – the New Oriental 1000 CE – is a modern, fully motorized "U-arm" type system. Its compact dimensions in no way limit its capabilities; it can perform any radiographic projection. Setup for these projections is facilitated by a system of motorized movements. The system features a number of pre-programmed positions, which it moves to quickly and automatically after selecting the appropriate icon on the console. A mobile bed is included with the system. It is lightweight, yet features a very durable and solid tabletop made of radiolucent material. The models designated "1000MC" and "1000MD" are systems with the X-ray tube suspended on a floor-mounted column. The first of these – the New Oriental 1000MC – is the basic configuration of the system, dedicated to small practices. It features a column with an X-ray tube that moves along the system's rail, integrated with the X-ray table. This does not, however, interfere with taking images of patients on beds, because the column rotates 180 degrees and allows a bed to be moved up behind the system. The New Oriental 1000MD system, in turn, is a configuration for more demanding users. It is dedicated to working with a greater number of detectors and with a tube column that moves on a rail not integrated with the table, thereby providing more room for patient positioning. In addition, this configuration features automatic, motorized centering of the tube and detector at the chest stand (wall stand), which significantly improves examination comfort. It also enables examinations using the stitched image technique (so-called Stitching). During this examination, the patient stands steadily on a special stand, and the examination itself is performed automatically by the system.

Naturally, WDM also offers systems with the X-ray tube on a ceiling suspension. The New Oriental 1000DB model provides such a solution. It is an ideal system for hospitals for which the comfort and speed of performing examinations is important, particularly for patients from Hospital Emergency Departments. Such a system is fully motorized, and its tiltable detector panel serves as a chest stand (wall stand), while also capturing images of patients lying on a movable radiolucent bed.

A common feature of the New Oriental X-ray systems is a console with a very large touchscreen mounted on the tube. With it, the technologist can change exposure parameters, select anatomical programs and the most frequently used system positions. An interesting feature is also a kind of tutorial – after selecting the type of examination, a graphic appears on the console screen showing how to correctly position the patient for the chosen projection. The equipment of the technologist's control room is also impressive. A large, monochrome medical monitor is placed on a dedicated desk for operating all functions and previewing the image. Unlike competing X-ray systems available on the market that are equipped with ordinary LCD monitors, a technologist taking an image with a WDM system obtains an image whose quality nearly matches that displayed on radiologists' reading workstations.

LOW RADIATION DOSE

A range of innovative solutions reducing the dose received by the patient while maintaining the highest imaging quality.

MOTORIZED MOVEMENTS

The X-ray tube is mounted on a motorized arm and automatically centers itself with the detector.

SIMPLE AND INTUITIVE OPERATION

Anatomical programs are selected from a graphic of the patient's silhouette. In addition, the technologist has a tutorial available – before each examination, a graphic is displayed showing the correct positioning of the patient.

TOUCH CONSOLE

A console with a touchscreen mounted on the tube enables changing exposure parameters as well as previewing the image after taking a shot
