Magnetic resonance imaging technologies: imaging software and coils
The technologies in Esaote MRI systems fall into two groups: the eXP Technologies imaging software package and a complete set of receiving coils. Below we describe what each of them covers.
Technologies in Esaote MRI systems
For 30 years Esaote has been one of the world leaders in dedicated magnetic resonance imaging — thanks to image quality, reproducibility of results and system reliability. Years of research and development have allowed the company to introduce solutions ahead of the market, for example SpeedUp technology (compressed sensing), available to Esaote users as early as 2015.
In recent years the term Low Field MRI has become synonymous with performance and with optimised departmental workflow, something recognised by significant players in the healthcare market. Esaote has played its part in this change.
eXP Technologies
eXP is an imaging software package that combines advanced methods of data acquisition and reconstruction. It shortens examination times, improves image quality and opens up new clinical applications.
The package covers four areas:
- Sequences — sequences designed in-house by Esaote, including SPED, MAR and 3D Isotropic.
- Applications — tools that provide information going beyond a standard examination: Q-Spine and True Motion.
- Acquisition Methods — methods that bring order to the work of the department without compromising image quality: SpeedUp, TR Reduction and Elliptical K Space.
- User experience — operating the system and working with the image: AgilExam and 3D Viewer.

Coils
All Esaote MRI systems are supplied with a complete set of receiving coils designed to deliver very high sensitivity, patient comfort and the best possible examination conditions.
The coils are of multi-channel design and are dedicated to specific anatomies, which translates into a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), signal uniformity and spatial resolution. The set is completed by split coils and a transparent head coil that improves patient comfort.
